Andy is also a passionate advocate for hospitality in Scotland, with long-standing involvement in organisations such as HIT Scotland, Apprenticeships in Hospitality Scotland, and the Maggie’s Cancer Care Glasgow Fundraising Board.

Billy has been associated with the hospitality industry for 20+ years, both through business where Luxury Textiles provide garments, including high end custom garments to the hotels, but also through supporting associated organisations as a corporate sponsor, event sponsor and making donations.
Billy has a passion for people development and growth and actively gets involved and supports initiatives where possible.
Billy being the father of a very successful apprentice, puts him a strong position to understand that challenges, success and journey of the apprentices, whilst at the same time contributing to the development of HAS.

Caroline Gregory
The Lovat
Director
Caroline Gregory is one of the driving forces behind The Lovat Hotel and Restaurant at Fort Augustus in Inverness-shire, which is the only 4-star hotel in the local area.
Caroline, along with her husband and Head Chef Sean, are the current custodians of the venue. Their combined valuable hotel knowledge and experience have propelled The Lovat forward as a leading hotel in the Highlands, with an eco-conscious ethos at its core.
In 20 years, the hotel has gained 4 AA stars, 3 rosettes as well as being crowned with some prestigious accolades and awards – Hotel Catey Sustainable Hotel of the Year, VIBES award for environmental management and Highlands and Islands Restaurant of the Year Award, to name a few.
These achievements have been made all the more possible with the support from the committed and engaging team of 30 employees.

Driven by my genuine passion to help young people reach their full potential, I work in partnership with Springboard to deliver Diageo’s Learning for Life programme, aimed at supporting people from disadvantaged backgrounds into sustainable jobs in the hospitality industry. Previously worked as Early Career Specialist, responsible for ensuring Diageo’s early career programmes meet the future skills needs of our business and create fulfilling employee experiences which accelerates their development.

Gordon McIntyre MBE

Chairman & Founder
A father of 3 awesome children, who keep him young and a keen mountain biker. Gordon has been involved in the Hospitality & Tourism industry for over 40 years, 35 of them in Further Education, many as the Associate Dean of Hospitality, Tourism & Events at City of Glasgow College. Gordon is presently the founding Chair of Hospitality Health, a charity that supports the wellbeing of staff in the industry. He attended primary school in Strachur, Argyll (God’s country), and was employed in hospitality around Loch Fyne. He had a spell on cruise ships as an Assistant Purser, as well as worked hotels and pubs in the city of Glasgow.
An optimistic person, who believes a positive mind leads to a positive outcome, and you should strive to be the best at whatever you do, whether a professor, nurse, administrator or a mechanic. “Inspire before you Expire!” Gordon was recognized in the Kings 2024 New Years honours list by being awarded an MBE for service to the hospitality and tourism industry in Scotland.

Kelly Johnstone

Kelly is the dynamic leader at the helm of The Springboard Charity across the UK and Ireland. Previously the Director for Scotland, NI, Ireland and North England, a post she has held since 2014. She has driven remarkable growth and vastly improved the impact of the Springboard Charity improving the prospects for employment of tens of thousands of young people as well as unemployed or otherwise disadvantaged adults within hospitality and tourism, in so doing helping the industry raise its profile as an employer and access fresh talent. Her passion for the industry combined with a natural desire to help people, has meant Kelly’s influence has seen the charity flourish and win numerous awards. Kelly’s ethos is action orientated and getting things done, but is a stickler for quality, practicality, and collaboration – working closely with key partners from across the industry, government and other stakeholders. Prior to Springboard, Kelly spent 17 years with Thomas Cook and was one of the Founding Members of the Thomas Cook Children’s Charity established in 2009. She is the Chair of the Scottish Tourism Alliance Tourism Skills Group; A member of the Tourism and Hospitality industry leadership group and a board member of Apprenticeship in Hospitality Scotland. Her other passion is football!

Marc Crothall MBE

Marc Crothall started his working life in the tourism, leisure, and hospitality industry at the age of 17. He has held a variety of front-line senior management and executive positions across different sectors of the industry in various parts of the globe. This includes time spent in the US, Sweden, France, Spain, Switzerland, South Africa, The Channel Islands, England, the Highlands of Scotland and in his home city of Glasgow where he has been settled with his family for the past 20 years.
His wealth of first-hand experience and knowledge of the industry has been gained from working for leading corporate and independent organisations, both large and small, including Gilbeys Hotels (SA), The Metropole Hotel Group, The St. Pierre Park, Sheraton Hotels and The Freedom of the Glen Hotel Group. In addition to having his own advisory consultancy, he has spent time working for leading contract and event caterers, Compass Group and Amadeus, and has held senior posts at Alton Towers and with the David Lloyd Leisure Group.
In May 2012 Marc was appointed as the first CEO of The Scottish Tourism Alliance (STA), which is acknowledged as the overarching trade body for the tourism and hospitality sector. He chaired the national Strategy Steering Group charged with developing Scotland’s national tourism strategy, Scotland Outlook 2030, which was launched on 5th March 2020 by Scotland’s First Minister at the time, Nicola Sturgeon.

Musab has significant experience working with clients’ Human Resources teams. Scott Inglis has commercial responsibility for Fishers Laundry Group which is Scotland’s/North of England’s largest commercial laundry and textile rental business, servicing the hospitality sector. Scott also directly oversees the specialist Workwear and Cleanroom division.
Fishers washes, dries and irons 2 million pieces of linen every week, with an annual turnover of over £40m. Fishers operates five Plants in Coatbridge, Perth, Cupar, Newcastle and Livingston with over 800 employees.
Scott has taken personal responsibility for positioning the Fishers business as an integral, and vital, part of the Scottish tourism industry and for ensuring that Fishers plays a full role in the sector. Passionate about the role that Fishers plays in supporting this industry, he leads the partnership approach to ensure that Fishers play their part helping the sector deliver. Fishers work with VisitScotland in supporting the National Thistle Awards and with the individual regions to ensure support is also provided locally.
As a qualified Accountant, Scott was Fishers’ Group Finance Director for over two years and, as a consequence, has a deep understanding of the financial levers that are important to a business operating within the Scottish hospitality sector.

I was fortunate to complete the apprenticeship in 2017 and have benefited from this since then. Including applying the skills and experiences I have gained to have spent time at Gleneagles Hotel, Dubai, British Virgin Islands and now holding the position of Guest Services Manager and Estelle Manor, in Oxfordshire
With having this experience, I aim to contribute and assist with the development of HAS and help other apprentices on their journey as I can relate and connect with challenges and exciting times they will have.
I have a passion for people development and helping others and being a board member of HAS will allow me to apply these and add support and value.
