MELDRUM HOUSE

Number of Rooms: 47

An award-winning 4-star venue, Meldrum House Country Hotel and Golf Course offers HANE apprentices an excellent grounding in all facets of the hospitality industry. Set in 240 acres, Meldrum House has 47 rooms in the main manor house as well as the Estate Wing and the Stable Block.

It is also a food lover’s haven, with its award-winning restaurant and the 800-year-old Cave Bar. In addition, Meldrum House offers outdoor dining, a sky bar and private dining for guests looking for something extra special.

The hotel has its own golf course and training academy, is a popular wedding and conference venue, and offers a host of experiences for guests, including dining under the stars and marriage proposal packages. And this all adds up to a wealth of experience for any apprentice as they work across the hotel’s varied departments.

An active advocate of bringing new talent into the hospitality industry, Meldrum House has an excellent reputation for training and developing their staff. Over the past five years, they have seen more than 50 members of staff complete an SVQ or apprenticeship scheme. Post apprenticeship, Meldrum House also actively encourages staff to continue their studies, in-house training, and professional development.

“Apprenticeships are such a great way for young people to learn on the job about the industry.  Working within our departments, they gain an insight directly from the people who already have the experience.  I can’t emphasise strongly enough how important this way of learning can be, inspiring the Apprentices to shape their decisions on their future careers. As a hotelier, it also gives us the opportunity to welcome and attract new talent in a profession that offers an abundance of disciplines.”
